9/11 Plus One: The World Trade Center Broadcasters Recover

Your message here - contact fybush.com to reach thousands of NERW readers every week!

It's the NERW Early Summer 2005 Subscription Drive!

It's that time of year again - you're getting ready to hit the road, celebrate the holidays and enjoy the toasty summer weather. Here at NERW Central, we're ready to enjoy the summer, too. But before we do - and before you continue on to this week's action-packed NorthEast Radio Watch - a quick little bit of business.

As most of you know by now, NERW's been coming your way for well over a decade thanks largely to the support of readers just like you. For almost half a decade now, NERW and its associated businesses (Tower Site Calendar and Tower Site of the Week) has been your editor's main line of work. That's a good thing, because it gives us the time and freedom we need to travel widely, meet a lot of you, and keep tabs on what's happening out there in the world of radio and TV. But it also means that from time to time, we've got to take a pause from the business of reporting on broadcasting and come to you asking for support, especially this time of year, with travel looming and the 2006 Tower Site Calendar not quite ready to go on sale. (Keep reading, though, for a chance to be one of the first to order it...)

If you're already a current subscriber to NERW, you know this, and we appreciate your support. Thanks - and continue on to this week's NERW with a clear conscience, won't you?

But if you haven't renewed your subscription lately, or if you've never supported NERW, it's time for another reminder that what we do here isn't free. No, I still don't want to bother with cumbersome passwords and user logins and so on. That's a time-consuming task for our staff of two (your editor and Mrs. NERW), and it would eat up resources that we'd rather devote to producing the column.

So instead, we run the column on the honor system. If you read it and you find it useful, we ask that you subscribe. Our recommended levels ($60 for radio industry professionals, $30 for individuals, $15 for students/seniors) haven't changed since we started doing this in 2000, but you're always free to contribute more or less, as you see fit. But even if it's only a few bucks, it makes a difference. Don't let the summer get underway without doing your part to keep NERW coming!

For the last few years, we've sweetened the deal with the Tower Site Calendar, and during this Early Summer Drive, we'll keep that tradition going. Here's what we're offering - including your very first chance to reserve the new 2006 Tower Site Calendar at the $60 level:

 Suggested NERW Membership Levels

 Student/Senior/Retired ($15)

 Individual ($30)

ASK FOR YOUR FREE COPY OF THE 2005 TOWER SITE CALENDAR WITH YOUR SUBSCRIPTION!

 Industry Professional ($60)

ASK FOR YOUR FREE COPY OF THE BRAND-NEW 2006 TOWER SITE CALENDAR (AVAILABLE LATE AUGUST 2005), PLUS A FREE 2005 TOWER SITE CALENDAR, WHEN YOU SUBSCRIBE!

If you don't want to pay by credit card, you can make your check or money order payable to Scott Fybush and send it to 92 Bonnie Brae Avenue, Rochester NY 14618.

And if you're not sure whether or not your subscription has run out, check in with our office manager (aka Mrs. NERW) at lisa at fybush dot com and she'll let you know your status.

One more thing...before you head off to this week's column: In addition to subscriptions, NERW is also supported by our generous advertisers. We hope you'll consider the services they offer (and if you happen to click on the sponsored links to the left, that helps, too) - but even more so, we hope you'll consider becoming one of them.

Advertising on NERW/fybush.com is inexpensive - as little as $10/week for our classifieds section, with prominent placement at the top of each week's NERW page - and it's an effective way to get the word out about your product, service or job opening to a highly targeted audience of thousands of radio professionals and support NorthEast Radio Watch, all at once. E-mail us at ads at fybush dot com and we'll get you on the page with us, right away!

Thanks again, and now...this week's NorthEast Radio Watch!
