Top of the Tower Podcast #064: Talking Canada with Broadcast Dialogue’s Connie Thiessen

It was a longer hiatus than we intended, but Top of the Tower is back with a new spring season of conversations with some of the most interesting people in radio.

This week, we move north as we continue our recap of the Radiodays North America conference that took place in early May in Toronto as part of the larger Departures music and film festival.

Connie Thiessen is the editor of Canada’s Broadcast Dialogue, the trade publication of record for the TV, radio and film industry up north. She and I met up two years ago at the inaugural Radiodays North America conference and immediately started comparing notes about what we both do – we’re both veterans of the broadcast news industry who now edit trade publications, and we’re both huge music fans, too.

We agreed to do a joint podcast, and then a couple of years intervened, but we were determined not to wait again after catching up at this year’s Radiodays, and so this week’s Top of the Tower is also available as a Broadcast Dialogue – The Podcast episode (with some additional intro material about yours truly, if you’re curious!)
